HPT LAX CLASSIC EXPANDS TO 18 TEAMS AND 12 SCHOOLS
HPT HiToms Announce Lacrosse Jamboree Dates
High Point/Thomasville – HPT4LIFE Sports Group announced today the dates for the third annual HPT Lax Classic, Saturday, February 21st. Presented by the High Point Thomasville HiToms at Guilford College, the scholastic lacrosse jamboree features the Triad’s best players amongst 18 teams, 12 schools and nine games.
Headlined on the girls side by three-time AAA/AA/A girl’s state runner-up Bishop McGuinness and perennial Triad powers Northwest Guilford, West Forsyth and RJ Reynolds, the HPT Classic will also include Davie County, North Davidson, Mt. Tabor from the Winston-Salem area and Gate City’s Greensboro Day School and High Point’s Southwest Guilford.
The boy’s slate of games will also be a spotlight on the state’s elite programs as 2025 4A state Quarterfinalist Northwest Guilford and RJ Reynolds headline the event. Northern Guilford, East Forsyth, Bishop McGuinness, Southern Alamance and Davie County also comprise the four-game boys slate.
“The exponential growth of the HPT Lax Classic is directly attributable to the participating schools and sponsors,” HiToms President Greg Suire said. “With over 500 student-athletes participating this year, the lax classic’s single-site jamboree format has galvanized the Triad lacrosse community and served as an emerging energy source for lacrosse’s high school sports growth.
In addition to the team participation growth, the HPT Lax Classic will also debut a boys and girls skills challenge competition. Building off of the Triad Kick-Off Classic skills challenge success, the Lax Skills event will feature three boys and girls events: Target Challenge, Shot Velocity competition and Goalie Battle.
