The High Point-Thomasville HiToms took down the Martinsville Mustangs on Friday night behind a sixth-inning surge of offense that saw them score five runs to come from behind and take a lead that they would not relinquish.

The HiToms rode excellent plate discipline and quick baserunning to the win on the inaugural Burgers and Brews night at Historic Finch Field. RBI’s from Ellis Stokes, Noah Ledford, Tom Caufield and KB Peralta put HPT ahead in a five-run 6th. Stokes was also a menace on the base paths, stealing second and third before eventually scoring on a sacrifice fly.

Colin Sells was the story on the mound for the HiToms, overpowering batters with his 95 mph heater in a fantastic relief appearance to close out the contest. His final stat line: 4.1 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 7 K.

The HiToms will travel to Forest City tomorrow to take on the Owls in a double-header. First pitch of game one is scheduled for 5:30. Both games will be available to stream, as always, on flobaseball.tv.
