After the Post 87 HiToms evened up the series last night thanks to a combined perfect game from Royals and Barker, Grayson McDonald started where his teammates left off on the mound.

After three scoreless frames to open up the ballgame at Finch Field, the Post 8s got on the board first thanks to an RBI double from Dawson Shelton. However, the Post 87s quickly answered with a four spot in the bottom of the frame, highlighted by a two-run RBI double off the bat of Ethan Willard followed up by another RBI double from Trevor Waters.

Those four runs proved to be enough as McDonald went the distance on the mound, pitching 7 innings, only allowing two earned runs on six hits, striking out three. The Post 87s captured the 4-3 win and take the 2-1 series lead.

The Post 87 HiToms look to finish off this series and advance to states tomorrow night at Davidson County.
