HPT HiToms Announce Lacrosse Classic Dates

High Point/Thomasville – The High Point Thomasville Hi-Toms announced today the second annual HPT Lax Classic Saturday, February 22nd at Greensboro College. Presented by Flow Automotive, the scholastic lacrosse jamboree features 12 teams, eight schools and six games and the Triad’s best high school lacrosse players.

Headlined on the girls side by 2023 and 2024 AAA/AA/A girl’s state runner-up Bishop McGuinness High School and perennial Triad powers Northwest Guilford and RJ Reynolds, the HPT Classic will also include Reagan and Mt. Tabor from the Winston-Salem area and Greensboro’s Northern Guilford and High Point’s Southwest Guilford.

The boy’s slate of games will also be a spotlight on the state’s elite programs as 2024 state semi-finalist Bishop McGuinness High School takes on Northern Guilford and R.J. Reynolds squares off with Northwest Guilford.

“Following last year’s exciting inaugural jamboree, expanding the HPT Lax Classic was the natural next step,” HiToms President Greg Suire said. “Feeling the energy at Greensboro College and seeing the smiles of the student-athletes as they p

layed was a great reminder that young athletes love what they do. And, for our student-athletes, the single-site event is even more rewarding because they can perform in front of former teammates, friends and future lax opponents.”

Partnering with Greensboro College and Flo Automotive to host the event, the HPT Classic will feature an impressive lineup of future Division 1 women’s players: Sophia Apple (Northwest Guilford) East Carolina, two-time All-State selection and Penn State signee Kate Dennen (Bishop McGuinness) and Presbyterian College signee Ella Suire (Bishop McGuinness).

On the men’s side, future college players abound as well with Parker Peters (Northern Guilford), Long Island University, Matthew Cetrone (Bishop McGuinness), Catawba College, Tucker  Saums (Northwest Guilford), Grove City College, Cole Rigsbee (Northwest Guilford), Methodist and Nathan Cox (Northwest Guilford), North Greenville.
