High Point/Thomasville – The High Point Thomasville Hi-toms announced the addition of two more All-Stars to the inaugural rosters for the Triad Prep All Star Classic.
Alex Cook (High Point Central) and Thomas Bowman (High Point Wesleyan) will join the Guilford and Randolph County All-Stars when they face off with the Forsyth and Davidson County All-Stars this Saturday.
Cook, a right-handed pitcher and shortstop at Central, will attend the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill in the fall though he will not continue his playing career. Cook was named the Valedictorian of his high school graduating class.
Bowman, a left-handed hitting and throwing outfielder from Wesleyan will continue his playing career at Pitt Community College in Winterville, NC.
Both Bowman and Cook have ties to the HiToms as members of the Post 87 American Legion team. Further, Cook’s father is also an alumnus of the 87s, and Bowman’s uncle, Dylan Bowman, is an HPT HiToms alum.
The inaugural Triad Prep All Star Classic is this Saturday, May 21st at 6 p.m. at Finch Field. Tickets are $8 at the gates. The game will also be available to stream live and on demand via hitomtv.vewbie.com
