The HiToms stormed back to win Friday’s matchup in dramatic fashion over the Mustangs, marking the third time they have beaten Martinsville this season.
After giving up two runs in the top of the first, the HiToms trailed the Mustangs in a grueling rubber match.
Martinsville extended its lead to 4–0 late in the game, but the HiToms had one last chance in the final couple of innings.
In the bottom of the ninth, the HiToms still trailed 4–2. However, back-to-back singles gave the Tommies some baserunners.
After wild throws by the Mustangs’ defense allowed two more runs to score — tying the game — Josh Foulks put the nail in the coffin with a single up the middle, scoring Blake Gaffney from third.
It was a Friday night frenzy as the HiToms collected their third win of the 2025 campaign.
