Under the Friday night lights, the HiToms wasted no time getting on the board, as Nathan Chrismon blasted a solo shot in the bottom of the first in his first game as the leadoff man.

After being tied after two innings, Brantley Truitt came around to score thanks to an RBI from Ethan Pulliam. HiToms added another to their lead in the 4th off the bat of Chrismon, his second RBI of the evening.

Martinsville cut the lead to one in the top of the sixth from an RBI base knock from Owen Prince but then JT Taylor stepped on the mound in his home debut and didn’t miss a beat. He threw three scoreless frames to clinch the save and earn a huge win for the HiToms in the first of a three game set this weekend.
