High Point/Thomasville – The HPT HiToms defeated the Boone Bigfoots 7-3 in their home opener at Finch Field behind five shutout, one-hit innings from pitcher Dylan Christensen.

 

The Bigfoots struck first in the top of the first inning, logging three runs. Noah Young struck out LF Jackson McCoy looking to stop the bleeding.

 

In the bottom of the frame, the HiToms answered, scoring four to snatch the lead. CF Davis Halstead drove in two runners with a bases-loaded single. The HiToms added another run in the bottom of the second to seize a 5-3 lead.

 

In the top of the fourth, manager Dylan Stowell called Dylan Christensen to the mound, where he began an excellent debut for the HiToms. Christensen pitched through the eighth inning and had a final tally of 5 innings-pitched, 1 hit and 0 runs allowed. 

 

HiTom pitching did not allow any runs after the explosive first inning, powering a 7-3 victory over the Bigfoots. 

 

The Hitoms look to keep the good times rolling against the Asheboro Zookeepers at Historic Finch Field at 5:30.
