HITOMS WIN UNDER THE LIGHTS

The HiToms defeated the Asheboro Zookeepers on Monday night after Brantley Truitt gunned down the tying run at the plate in the ninth inning with two outs!

Nathan Chrismon started the game off with a BANG, hitting a lead off home run in the bottom of the first. The HiToms would never relinquish the lead after leading 1-0.

Brantley Willis tossed 4.1 innings of one run ball, striking out six and walking none. He also recorded an RBI at the plate.

In the ninth, the Zookeepers trailed 4-2 with runners on first and second and nobody out. With a pinch hitter Evan Harding at the plate, Tre Williams delivered a fastball that was blooped into left-center field, dropping just in front of the diving left fielder Camden Wimbish. Brantley Truitt, the center fielder, was backing up the play, and gloved and fired the ball as the tying run rounded third. He delivered a perfect strike to the plate, throwing out the tying run and sealing the HiTom victory!
