The High Point-Thomasville HiToms are thrilled to welcome back two returning HiToms and 2020 First Team All-CPL standouts in the signing of Hogan Windish and Luke Spiva to the 2021 roster.
Windish recorded phenomenal stats last summer for the HiToms en route to 2020 CPL Hitter of the Year honors. The talented infielder hit for power and average, tallying a .447 batting average with six home runs and 37 RBI. The Jefferson, NC native has also exhibited his hitting abilities for the UNC-Greensboro Spartans, hitting .280 while also belting ten home runs in the 2021 season. As a redshirt freshman, Windish impressed from the moment he stepped in the box, earning Second Team All-SoCon by batting .289 with six home runs. Windish was also a threat on the bases, stealing eleven bags.
Spiva is another returning HiTom that was productive at the plate last season, batting .387 with three home runs and 13 RBI. The Former Post 87 has been a winning machine while patrolling the Catawba outfield, with a 51-12 record over the past two seasons. The junior is skilled on the defensive side as well; he won a gold glove with the Winston-Salem State Rams before transferring to Catawba College, where his six home runs and 23 RBI have helped the Indians to a regular season conference championship.
With the addition of these two veteran sluggers, the HiToms are looking to bring some offensive firepower to the Coastal Plain League in 2021.
