Even with a lengthy delay due to transportation issues for the Forest City Owls, the HiToms came out firing on all cylinders.
The game started with a pitchers duel for a scorless first four frames thanks to lights out pitching from Tanner Kaler, who finished the night with 9 strikeouts and no earned runs allowed in 4 2/3 innings pitched. After the HiToms gave up two unearned runs, the bats answered thanks to a grand slam off the bat of Nathan Chrismon.
The HiToms added a few insurance runs and took home the thriller 6-4 in front of an electric crowd under the lights.
They will be back at home to take on the Asheboro Zookeeps at 6:30pm on Monday.
