The High Point-Thomasville HiToms take on the Asheboro Copperheads tonight after falling 4-2 at McCrary Park last night. Of their CPL opponents this season, Asheboro has given the HiToms the most trouble. Four of the five HPT losses thus far have been to the Copperheads.

Gavin Mortenson (1-0) will be on the bump for the HiToms tonight. In two starts for HP-Thomasville this season, Mortenson has ceded zero walks in six innings of work and struck out seven. His command will be crucial in a contest against a strong Asheboro offense.

Max Riemer went yard in last night’s loss for his second home run of the season. The addition of his power and catching abilities behind the plate should continue to bolster the powerful HPT lineup that has largely been raking against Coastal Plain League pitchers.

First pitch for tonight’s game between the High Point-Thomasville HiToms and the Asheboro Copperheads is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. and is available to stream on flobaseball.tv.
