The HiToms powered past the Boone Bigfoots 12-7 in a Friday night home matchup. In the bottom of the first, second baseman Grady Mee jump-started the night, leading off the game with a solo home run to give the HiToms an early 1-0 spark. Center fielder Ike Schmidly added on in the fourth with a two‑run homer, driving in two of the four HiToms runs that inning.

Right‑hander Eli Edds delivered a strong four‑inning start, allowing just one run while striking out seven. The HiToms’ biggest swing came in the seventh, when pinch hitter Tate Vogler launched a grand slam. The Bigfoots pushed across five runs between the eighth and ninth, but couldn’t close the gap, sealing an 12-7 HiToms win at Finch Field.

“Going into the at-bat, I just wanted to get my swing off. I knew I was only going to get one, having it be a pinch hit at bat,” Vogler said. “Luckily he threw one over the plate and I took advantage of it.”

The HiToms return to Finch Field on Wednesday night, hosting the Forest City Owls at 6:30 PM.
