The HiToms punched out another statement win on the road Friday night, rolling past the Florence Flamingos 11-5, improving to 8-5 in the CPL.
After plating one in the top of the first, the HiToms were suddenly staring at a 5-1 deficit as the Flamingos answered with a five‑run surge of their own. But true to their identity, the HiToms mounted yet another comeback. They chipped away with two in the second, three in the third, two in the fifth, and single runs in the seventh, eighth, and ninth. The eighth‑inning run came on a solo homer from designated hitter Matt Williams.
From the second inning on, the Flamingos never scratched across another run, sealing an 11-5 HiToms win.
The offense piled up 14 hits to Florence’s six. Right fielder Josh Foulks led the team with four hits, while center fielder Charlie Slabaugh added three.
