The High Point-Thomasville HiToms are looking to shake off last night’s exhibition loss as they host the Asheboro Copperheads tonight at historic Finch Field. The Deep River rivals have become quite familiar with each other, having played four straight games against each other last week.
Jake Tate will be on the bump for HPT tonight. The left-handed strike-thrower has been a solid presence in four appearances this season, earning a 2.70 ERA over 20 innings of work. He went seven innings strong and earned the win in his last start against Asheboro on July 1st.
The HiToms are looking to continue their recent success against the Copperheads- in their de facto series last week, HPT won three of the four contests. These two teams both bring the offensive firepower, and will look to continue their pace despite the wet conditions due to Tropical Storm Elsa.
First pitch of tonight’s game is scheduled for 7:00. Tickets are still available, and the game is available to stream on flobaseball.tv.
