On a cool afternoon, the bats of the High Point-Thomasville HiToms will look to regain their spark in the second exhibition matchup with the Catawba Valley Stars.

In game one of the season, the Stars pulled the upset of the 2020 Coastal Plain League West Division champs, 5-3. In the seven-inning exhibition, the Stars quieted the bats of the HiToms, striking out 11 HP-T batters over the game. The HiToms were patient at the plate, drawing six walks in the seven-inning contest.

One day after a second exhibition loss, Gabe Golob takes the Finch Field mound for the first time. The Wake Forest right-hander has been sidelined for over a year. NYU, Golob's former program has not played as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic since March 2020.

Golob trained with Driveline Baseball before and during the pandemic, working his velocity up to 90+ MPH. The Wake Forest right-hander will look to wow the fans in his first start in the Tar Heel State.

First pitch is at 5 p.m. at Finch Field. For live video coverage of the HiToms, head to FloBaseball.tv
