It’s time to party.

The Carolina Disco Turkeys begin their inaugural campaign with a trip to the High Point-Thomasville HiToms tonight at 6 p.m. Tonight’s game is the second of three-straight seven-inning exhibitions to begin the 2021 season for the HiToms. The club is celebrating the addition of Carolina to the collegiate summer league landscape by bringing the first-ever Disco Night to the ballpark. Historic Finch Field will be home to all-time hits in the Disco genre and themed middle-inning games, entertaining HiTom fans young and old.

At stake tonight is the first win in the 2021 HiToms season. Last night, the HiToms came up short, despite a strong start from Thomasville native Avery Cain. Cain breezed through the first three innings against the Catawba Valley Stars, striking out four across three-plus innings. After Cain left the game, the HiToms bullpen continued the strikeout trend, wrapping up the game with 11 strikeouts.

The HiToms offense looks to rebound tonight behind returning star Hogan Windish and Mississippi State bats Matt Corder and Von Seibert. The hyped trio is still looking for their first base hit, although they drew five walks on Friday.

Tonight, the HiToms start returning starter Luke Davis from Appalachian State. Davis struck out 20 batters in 13.2 innings pitched last season for the HiToms.
