High Point/Thomasville – The HPT HiToms fall to the Forest City Owls 14-7 on Wednesday evening at Historic Finch Field.

The Owls opened up the scoring in the top of the second inning, bringing twelve players to the plate and putting up a seven spot thanks to two-run rbi singles from 2B Dylan Koontz and 3B Billy Morris.

The HiToms plated one run in the bottom of the second, but that is all they could muster against John Jones, who threw five innings, only giving up one earned run, and striking out eight.

With the HiTom bats quiet, the Owls continued to pour on runs, plating three in the fourth, two in the fifth, and two in the sixth.

But the HiToms didn’t go away without a fight, blasting a three run home run in the seventh and a two-run homerun in the eighth inning, building momentum to carry through the rest of the week.

While the HiToms fell 14-7 tonight, they look to rebound as they face the Boone Bigfoots tomorrow evening.
