The High Point-Thomasville HiToms and Forest City Owls will face off on a very busy 4th of July at historic Finch Field. This will be their first matchup in Thomasville since June 18th.

The HiToms are coming off of a 16-3 drubbing of Martinsville last night. HPT was relentless, scoring 11 runs in the final frame of the game. Alex Stone contributed a grand slam in that 9th inning, and CJ Johnson showed off his opposite field power with a homer of his own.

Ty Wilmsmeyer will get the start on the mound for HPT on this Independence Day. Wilmsmeyer has been a versatile threat as a two-way player this season, and shown his capability on the mound. In a June 20th win against the Mustangs, he posted an impressive line: 5.1 IP, 1 ER, 3 BB and 6 K. His counterpart on the bump will be Tom Chmielewski, one of the aces for the Owls took down HPT in their last matchup on June 26th.

It’s sure to be an exciting night at historic Finch Field, as we celebrate our nation’s birthday with a full slate of fun games and promotions. First pitch is scheduled for 5:00, but the festivities will begin with a pregame concert from local talent Tatum Scott at 3:30! For those not in attendance, tonight’s game is available to stream, as always, on flobaseball.tv.
