The bats were flying on both sides Sunday night, but the HiToms powered their way to a 22-11 walk‑off win at home. Down 5-0 entering the bottom of the second, the comeback started when right fielder Ryan Allen launched a two‑run homer, and second baseman Grady Mee followed with another two‑run shot to cut the deficit to one.
The HiToms grabbed the lead in the fourth behind a three‑run blast from first baseman Drew Blalock. After the Sharks jumped ahead 11-8 in the fifth, shortstop Hunter Keen answered with a grand slam to swing momentum right back.
Mee put the finishing touch on the night in the eighth, crushing his second homer, a grand slam, to enforce the run rule and seal the 22-11 win.
Mee said that there was “a lot of momentum switches and back and forth action,” adding that “it just feels good to come out on top.”
The HiToms hit the road and return to action Monday, June 15, taking on the Martinsville Mustangs. Follow along for updates on Instagram @hitomsbaseball or Twitter @HTHiToms.
