The High-Point Thomasville HiToms had a night to remember capped off with an 8-5 victory over the Carolina Disco Turkeys.
The HiToms bats got on the board early, scoring five runs in the first two innings largely thanks to an RBI double from Nathan Chrismon and a solo shot from Brantley Willis. Despite the Turkeys using eight different pitchers, the HiToms were able to continue to pour on the runs, putting up a three spot in the seventh highlighted by an RBI single from Yates Sikes. The HiToms pitching staff was able to limit the Turkey batters, with Noah Young recording the win after pitching two shut out, no-hit innings.
A special pre-game celebration was held to celebrate the life of Warren King on June 11th. Tuesday night was also the 3rd annual Thomasville Stars Night as the HiToms teamed up with Thomasville Tourism Commision, honoring nine people from Thomasville. All nine were awarded a plaque.
