Bio

A Florida native, Sam Cochrane joins the HiToms staff in 2023 after his first year as hitting and outfield coach at Lackawanna College in Scranton, PA.

An outfielder at Division II Eckerd College and Division I College of Charleston, Cochrane was Sunshine State Conference Freshman of the Year in 2017 while at Eckerd.  After transferring to DI College of Charleston for his senior year, Cochrane earned Player of the Week honors while contributing to the regular season Colonial Athletic Conference champion Cougars.  Between the DI and DII levels, he hit .316/.398/.448 with 12 home runs and 54 stolen bases in 183 games.

Cochrane also has extensive summer ball experience, playing a season in New England’s Futures League after his freshman year and in the NECBL for the following three summers.

Cochrane brings a well-rounded understanding of the details of the game to the staff, including a passion for outfield play and baserunning.
